The club has a business meeting on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00. at the Field.
The Tri-County R/C flying field is located in Dunnellon, Florida. We lease 77 acres from the Department of Environment Protection, Office of Greenways and Trails. The runway is grass. The name of the field is Rainbow R/C Airpark. It is located east of Dunnellon. To find the field, take county road 484 to Bridges Road, turn right, it is the first gate on the left, you will see the sign.
To operate a radio-controlled aircraft at the field, in addition to being a member of the Tri-County R/C club, you must be a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, (AMA). Our club can provide you with an application form, or they are available in the AMA publication, or visit their web site.
All applicants under 19 years of age shall be considered "Junior Members."
Members must comply with all organization safety and flying field regulations, as well as the by-laws.
One of the reasons for having a club is so a student pilot can obtain assistance from one of the club instructors. Just like full sized planes, the student is required to fly with an instructor until he can take-off, land and perform certain other maneuvors solo.
